Carl E. Sipe, 70
GARDEN PRAIRIE – Carl E. Sipe, 70, of Garden Prairie, passed away suddenly on Thursday, Oct. 29 in his home.
Carl was born July 25, 1945 in Mohawk, Tenn. to riley and Margaret (Turner) Sipe. He was a proud United States Marine.
Carl married Corrine Dembkowski on Aug. 23, 1997 in Garden Prairie. He worked as a landscaper for various nurseries.
Carl enjoyed fishing, showing chickens, and animals. He adored his grandchildren and loved spending time with them. Carl was a member of the Illinois and Wisconsin Pet and Game Breeders Club and the Big Thunder Grange.
Carl is loved and will be missed by his wife, Corrine; children: Patrick (Tammy) Sipe, Pennie (Jeff) Beres, Shawna Nordin, Chastity Sipe, Angela Sipe, Todd Scharringhausen, Amanda (Brian) Minnihan; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Wanda (Bill) Goetz, Jenny (Raymond) Montgomery, Helen (Eric) Fabwush, Nellie (Juan) Martinez, Mary (Tim) Lucido, David Sipe, Rick (Tina Schultz) Sipe, Shirley (Jason) Six, and Cheyenne Sipe; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Margaret Ruth Sipe; uncle, Charles Sipe; father-in-law, Victor Dembkowski, and mother-in-law, Corrine Alf.
There will be an open house from 3 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 5, at the VFW located at 1310 W. Lincoln Ave. in Belvidere, with military honors at 4 p.m.
