hsBELVIDERE – The Belvidere High School Theatre Department is proud to announce their production of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) has been selected to be performed at the Illinois State Theatre Festival.

The Festival will be held on the campus of Illinois State University in Normal, Ill. on Jan. 7 through Jan. 9.

The Complete Works is an irreverent presentation of all of Shakespeare’s plays, performed by three male actors in just under two hours.  This is a hilarious show whether you are familiar with the Bard’s work or not!

Before moving the production to the state festival, the ensemble will present an encore performance on Tuesday, Jan. 5 at 7:30 p.m.  There is no charge for this performance.  If you missed it in October, here’s your last chance to see it!

The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) will be one of 10 full length plays and musicals, selected from submitted productions from around the state, to be presented at this year’s theatre festival.

The Illinois State Theatre Festival provides an opportunity for theatre students from around the state to see productions and attend theatre workshops.

Nearly 8,000 students will be attending this year’s festival.
