BELVIDERE – The Belvidere North Drama Club showcased their range on Thursday, Jan. 28, at the Performing Arts Center (PAC), by putting on 10 short plays.
The brief plays consisted of two actors and lasted between five to 10 minutes with a short intermission between acts. The sets were bare minimum, which allowed maximum focus on the performances of the actors.
Each play was set in a different time period, beginning in the 1920s and ending with present day. The theme for each story was the relationship between siblings in conflicting settings, mixed with some humor. Extra emphasis was put on dialogue and costumes to reflect the decade.
While some of the topics covered were serious in nature, such as faking a suicide, divorcing parents, and heading off to fight Nazis in WWII, the script and actors never let it get too heavy. The comedic timing and delivery of the young actors was superb as they addressed mature undertones.

Production member Max Taylor did his part in keeping the mood light as well as he jumped, spun, and somersaulted across the stage, switching out sets. Max provided micro-entertainment for the audience while they waited for the next performance to begin.
The ensemble is directed by Belvidere North drama teacher Wendy Taylor, and stage manager Alexis Dedmond.
Thespian Troop 7338’s next presentation will be an improv set on Thursday, Feb. 11 at the Performance Arts Center. Their next full production will be on April 13, 14, and 15, when they perform ‘Lend Me a Tenor’, a Tony Award winning Broadway musical, also hosted at the PAC.
Full cast includes, in order of play: McKenna Mosher, Cassandra Bloomingdale, Seth Lambright, Lily Czechowicz, Megan Mason, Brian Edwards, Thomas Crocker, Eileen Bunt, Natalie Perez, Alexis Dedmond, Forest Shattuck, Bryce Panzella, and Jordan Ceniseros.
