Friday, March 4
St. James School of Belvidere will host a Fish Fry Dinner from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The dinner will include an all you can eat baked or hand beer battered fried cod served with Mac and cheese, French fries, coleslaw, vegetables, salad, and dessert. The Fish Fry Dinner is open to the public and costs $9.50 for adults (with family discounts available), $8.50 for seniors, with an additional $1 off for seniors who dine between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. The dinner will take place at 320 Logan Ave. in Belvidere.
The Belvidere Park District will host a painting class for parents and their children to paint together at Rivers Edge Recreation Center on Saturday, March 12. The class will take place from 10 a.m. to noon. The cost is $18 to $27. The registration deadline is this date. To register, please contact the Belvidere Park District at (815)547-5711.

Saturday, March 5
The Belvidere Park District is hosting a Mother/Son Superhero Night at Rivers Edge from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The cost is $20 to $30 per couple depending on participation and $10 to $15 for each additional son. The registration deadline was Feb. 29.

Belvidere Knights of Columbus, Council #735 is hosting a St. Patrick’s Dinner/Dance. The Dinner/Dance will be held at Belvidere Moose Lodge, at 575 Beloit Road. Dinner will begin at 6 p.m. The McNulty Dancers and music will start at 8 p.m. to midnight, featuring Dale Rhode and The Crossroads and Looking For Treble. The public is welcome, with tickets costing $25 each. North Boone Booster Club presents Dairyland Donkey Basketball at North Boone High School, at 17823 Poplar Grove Road in Poplar Grove. Pork Chop dinner ($6) and Kids Games will be at 5 p.m. Donkey Games Begin ($6 and $8) at 6 p.m. Raffle Baskets and Free Donkey Rides will also be available. Tickets are available in advance at North Boone High School for $6, Tickets at the door will be $8, and children six and under are free.

Sunday, March 6
The Monroe Township Fire Association will hold a buffet breakfast from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Monroe Township Fire Station, located at 104 West St. in Monroe Center. The charge for adults and children aged 13 and over is $8; children ages six to 12 are $4 and children five and under eat free.
Boone County Fire District II firefighters are sponsoring their Annual Breakfast from 7 a.m. to noon at Garden Prairie District II Fire Station, at 9404 U.S. Hwy 20 in Garden Prairie. The menu includes: eggs, sausage, pancakes, toast, milk and coffee. Donations are appreciated.
