BELVIDERE – On Monday, March 14, an investigation by the Belvidere/Boone County Metro Narcotics Unit resulted in the arrest of a Belvidere Resident on felony drug charges.
Jerry Denny, 52, of Belvidere, was charged with one count of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance (Hydrocodone) within 1,000 feet of a church – (Class II Felony), one count of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance (Hydrocodone) – (Class III Felony) and one count of unlawful possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (Hydrocodone).
The investigation resulted in the seizure of a controlled substance (Hydrocodone) and U.S. Currency. Denny remains in custody of the Boone County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible. A Class II Felony is punishable by three to seven years in the Department of Corrections. Each Class III Felony is punishable by two to five years in the Department of Corrections.
