Rollan E. Grimes, 78, of Orange, Va., passed into life eternal on Thursday, Aug. 18.
He was born in Belvidere, Ill. on Aug. 24, 1937 to Everett and Ada (Somerville) Grimes. He married Lois Harwood on Aug. 12, 1961 in DeKalb, Ill.
Rollan was a graduate of Belvidere High School class of 1955, Northern Illinois University, and Vandercook School of Music. He taught music in Illinois and Wisconsin and played in local bands, including the Jack Farina Band, for many years before retiring to Virginia.
He is survived by his wife Lois, three daughters, Connie Pearsall, of Florissant, Colo., Cindy (Chris) McCready, of Barboursville, Va., and Kate Baker, of Reno, Nev. He also is survived by his seven grandchildren: Collin Pearsall; Ian, Isaiah, Autumn, and Summer McCready; and McKenna and Landon Baker; and his sister, Gayla Grimes-Harbolt (Gordon), of Bradenton, Fla.
He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
