Community gathers for annual Hometown Christmas Tree Decorating Contest

	Mrs. Ernest’s Kindergarten class in Caledonia and Miss Ernest’s Pre-Kindergarten class at Lincoln get help from Dave Ernest to reach the high parts of the tree.

“We have been doing this contest for about 26 or 27 years. Some years we are looking for families who need a tree and some years we are looking for sponsors to decorate a tree, but this year it all came together quickly.

 
 

Quick actions of the Belvidere Fire Department save a residence

	The gas meter on the Pearl Street residence was on fire when the BFD arrived.

In a response time of four minutes, two fire engines, one fire chief, and seven firefighters were on site and working to control the flames.

 
 

Shop with a Kid in its 27th year

Santa comes to the Vintage Wings and Wheels Museum

Hang It Up Art Sale has something for everyone

	The Hang It Up fundraiser for the Cherry Valley Library drew hundreds of donations of paintings, photos, quilts, and anything to be placed on a wall.

“We are raising money for an expansion of the building. It will contain a new Youth Services Program room. We also want to install a drive-up book return. That is our goal.

 
 

Poplar Grove’s Christmas tree lights up the season

The annual tree lighting ceremony is the official kick-off for the holiday season in Poplar Grove.

 
 

New firefighter/paramedic joins Belvidere Fire Dept.
