When Belvidere Police Chief Woody heard that kickball was one of the activities she was planning, he said, “Let me know when you play kickball. I’ll play. It will be fun to get out there with the kids and have a good time with them.”

BBQ Competition draws grillers from across the states and beyond

	Steaks are brought to the judges’ in containers provided for them. The judges do look for those beautiful grill marks as well as the color and the flavors of the cooked meat.

“It’s amazing,” says Mayor Mike Chamberlain of the cook-off events. “Every year it gets bigger. They love the fairgrounds. They love to come to Boone County.”
