Talcott Free Library and Rockton Township Historical Society will host a special program “Barn Quilts and the American Quilt Trail Movement. It will be at Talcott on Thursday, July 7 at 6:30 p.m.

Author Suzi Parron will present the program. It will feature photographs of barn quilts, some of which rival cloth quilts in their intricacy. You will hear stories of the individuals who have painted quilt blocks to honor loved ones or their local culture, along with a few humorous anecdotes.

The presentation is both informative and entertaining, as Suzi explores the way in which our quilting heritage takes on new meaning as this movement continues to expand. Author of “Barn Quilts and the American Quilt Trail Movement” and her new 2016 release, “Following the Barn Quilt Trail.” Book signing will follow.
