Belvidere Board of Realtors invests in Eagle Scout Service Project Dog Park
The Belvidere Board of Realtors presented a $500 donation to Ian Neibarger to help with completion of his Eagle Scout Service
Project at Wednesday’s Poplar Grove Village Board meeting. Neibarger took on the daunting task of raising funds to plan and construct a dog park by revitalizing a vacant piece of property across from Poplar Grove Village Hall.
“For the right buyer a dog park is a great selling point. Dog parks, pocket-parks, and play grounds are all features that are appealing because they create more socially interactive and vibrant communities,” said Ron Taylor, President of the Belvidere Board of Realtors.
Neibarger approached the Village of Poplar Grove back in 2017 with his aspirations to create a dog park. “There were a lot of moving parts to make sure Ian’s vision could become a reality,” said Owen Costanza, Village President. “Not only did Ian have to reach his fundraising goal, but the Village purchased additional land to ensure sufficient space and brought in Region 1 Planning Council and McMahon Associates as essential partners to assist him with design planning.”
