Belvidere boys’ golf team defeats Harvard

POPLAR GROVE – The Belvidere High School varsity boys’ golf team faced Harvard High School at home at the Timber Pointe Golf Club in Poplar Grove on Thursday, Sept. 10. The Belvidere Bucs won 180-204.
The Belvidere boys had remarkable scores with Brandon Bishoff taking the lead with a low 37 points. His teammates Larry Larson, Dylan Boardman, and Ryan Snyder made up the other scores for the four lowest scores to take the match at 180 points. Boardman scored a 46, followed by Snyder with 47, and Larson with 50.
Teammates Gunner Gleason and Garrett Keeney also had lower scores with Gleason scoring 51 and Keeney scoring 56.
Harvard High School could not catch up with their lowest scoring player, Austin Gratz, scoring a 49.
Also in the top four for Harvard were TJ Smith with a 50, Noah Carlson with 51, and Alec Garza with 54.
Ben Overlee and Caleb Overlee of Harvard were not far off the leaders with Caleb scoring 57 and Ben scoring 59.
Fortunately for Belvidere, Harvard’s scores weren’t enough to take the victory away from them.
