Belvidere boys’ soccer team competes in soccer classic
BELVIDERE – At the Belvidere Bucs Soccer Classic, set on Saturday, Oct. 10, the Belvidere Bucs took home one victory and one loss.
In the first game, Belvidere faced off against Aurora Central Catholic High School. Belvidere won 4-1.
Aurora scored the first goal of the game, taking the lead quickly to the disappointment of the Bucs players and fans. However, the Belvidere Bucs wouldn’t let Aurora take the game victory away from them.
Belvidere came back and scored three goals in the first period. The first goal was by Juan Resendiz off of an assist from Saul Vilchis. The second goal also came from Resendiz. Rurro Hores scored the third goal off of an assist from Juan Resendiz.
In the second period, Belvidere increased their lead with their fourth and final goal being scored by Benji Delgado.
This match put Belvidere at a record of 13-5-1.
In the second game, Belvidere suffered a loss to Bartlett High School. Bartlett won 3-0. Bartlett player, number six, scored the first goal in the first period, followed by Bartlett player, number seven, scoring the second and third goals in the second period.
The Bucs just didn’t have the force to stop Bartlett from taking the victory. The loss put Belvidere at a record of 13-6-1.
