BELVIDERE – The Belvidere High School boys’ soccer team faced off against Guilford High School in a matchup set on Belvidere’s home turf. The game, set on Thursday, Oct. 8, resulted in a loss for Belvidere. Guilford won 3-1.

The Belvidere Bucs came out with a promising start to take the game with Belvidere’s own, Benji Delgado, scoring the first goal of the game in the first period. Belvidere held on strong, not letting any of the Guilford players score during the first period of the game.

Guilford High School quickly came back and then some in the second period scoring the three goals they needed to win.

Guilford’s number 19 scored the first goal in the second period and Guilford player number 11 scored the next two goals to lead the Guilford Vikings into victory.

The loss puts Belvidere at a record of 4-3 for the conference and 12-5-1 for the season.
