Belvidere Bucs boys’ soccer team crushes Marengo
BELVIDERE – On Tuesday, Oct. 20, the Belvidere Bucs faced off against Marengo High School in a home game set at Belvidere High School. Belvidere creamed the competition by defeating Marengo 8-1.
Belvidere went into the game strong, scoring three points in the first period. The first goal, Benji Delgado made off of an assist from teammate Jose Mancilla. Belvidere struck again with Saul Vilchis scoring the next goal followed by Daniel Ponce finishing off the first period with another goal.
In the second period, Belvidere came back to score another five points. Scoring first in the second was Jose Mancillas off an assist from Saul Vilchis. Scoring the fifth goal of the game was Beto Torres with an assist from teammate Jaime Flores.
Belvidere scored again in the second period increasing their lead 6-0 with Juan Resendes making the goal, followed by Jorge Resendes and Jaime Flores making the final the final two goals for the Belvidere Bucs.
Scoring the last goal of the game was Marengo off of a penalty shot.
Bucs won 8-1 putting their season record at 16-6-2.
