ROCKFORD – The Belvidere girls’ co-op golf team, featuring athletes from both Belvidere High School and Belvidere North High School attended the NIC-10 Conference on Thursday, Oct. 1 at Elliot Golf Course in Rockford. Belvidere came in fourth place.

Rockford Public School took home the victory with 359 points for their team, followed by Boylan Catholic High School in second with 370 points, Hononegah High School in third with 377 points and Belvidere in fourth with 414 points.

“We had three girls finish in the top 20 individually: Maddie Strum 12th place, Sara Redig 14th, and Brenna Rieches 18th,” Belvidere Girls’ Golf Coach Dan Koenings said.

The Belvidere junior varsity girls’ co-op golf team also competed at the NIC-10 JV Conference on Thursday, Oct. 1, with four of Belvidere’s players “finishing in the top 15: Christine Chustak finished in 4th place, Emmie Hanson in 10th, Natalia Rodawasski in 12th, and Tyniya Thompson in 14th place. Great job girls,” Coach Koenings said.

The varsity team will also compete in the Regional Tournament on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at Pinecrest Golf Club in Huntley.
