Belvidere girls’ golf co-op faces Harlem

BELVIDERE – The Belvidere girls’ golf co-op, comprised of Belvidere and Belvidere North players, defeated Harlem High School on Wednesday, Sept. 15. Belvidere won 201-204.
In the extremely close game, Belvidere took home the win with Maddie Strum, Sara Redig, Morgan McNulty, and Brenna Rieches scoring the four lowest scores.
Strum scored a 49, Redig a 50, and McNulty and Rieches tying with 51s to equal their team score of 201.
Even with Belvidere taking home the victory, Harlem did not go home empty handed. Carson Racich of Harlem High School scored the lowest out of both teams with a total of 40 points making her the match medalist.
Her teammates also did extremely well with Danielle Peterson scoring a 47, followed by Kaitlin Usry with a 52, and Reilly Hancock with a 65.
The junior varsity also won against Harlem with a total score of 256. Christine Chustak scored a 52, Jada Cantu a 63, Emmie Hansen a 65, and Gio Castaldo a 76.
