Belvidere High School hosts All Sports Award Night
BELVIDERE – On Tuesday, May 10, Belvidere High School hosted the All Sports Award Night celebrating athletes from all three seasons of sports.
Awards included captain and MVP awards, special awards, conference team athlete awards, team sportsmanship awards, new record awards, athletic highlights, and scholar athlete pinning recipients, 2015-2016 Scholar Athletes, and 2015-2016 Three Sport Athletes.
Captains
The honoring of team captains for the fall season included: Nancy Schmidbauer (cheerleading), Collin Schohn (boys’ cross country), Austin Ziriaxe (football), Garrett Keeney (boys’ golf), Yoscelyn Escamilla (Poms), Jaime Flores (boys’ soccer), Jade Phimmachack (girls’ swimming and diving), Molly Velbeck (girls’ tennis), and Katie Ernest (girls’ volleyball).
The honoring of team captains for winter sports included: Eric Munoz (boys’ basketball), Becky Bartell (girls’ basketball), Lawrence Tripamer III (boys’ bowling), Sara Deddo (girls’ bowling), Ashley Garza (competitive cheerleading), Yoscelyn Escamilla (dance), and Jason Tapia (wrestling).
The honoring of team captains for spring sports included: Mackenzy Jankiewicz (girls’ soccer), Yash Musabji (boys’ track), and Amanda Eisenman (girls’ track).
MVPs

The honoring of MVPs for the winter sports season included: Austin Revolinski (boys’ basketball), Neve Yerk (girls’ basketball), Lawrence Tripamer III (boys’ bowling), Sara Deddo (girls’ bowling), Jacob Rice (competitive cheerleading), Alysha Keating (dance), and Henry Flores (wrestling).

Belvidere High School Assistant Coach of the Year went to Nate Lister for boys’ basketball.
The Pamela Barr Buc Booster Service Award went to Angel Steege and Melissa Schaffer.
The Student Service Award went to Robert Zediker.
The Belvidere Masonic Lodge No. 60 Best Athlete/Team of the Year went to DeAnte Barnes and the boy’s basketball team.
The U.S. Army Awards went to Becky Bartell and Austin Ziriaxe.

The boys’ basketball team was regional champions.
The girls’ swimming and diving team was all conference champions, sectional champions, and state qualifiers.
The wrestling team made state qualifiers with Henry Flores and Gage Brewer.
The boys’ bowling team made state qualifiers with Lawrence Tripamer III.
The competitive cheerleading team made NIC-10 Conference MVP with Nancy Schmidbauer.
