ROCKFORD – The Belvidere North High School boys’ golf team took home another win after defeating Harlem High School in Rockford on Wednesday, Sept. 9. The Belvidere Blue Thunder won 154-163.

BNHS displayed impressive performances from all of its players, including the four top athletes whose scores encompassed the overall team score of 154.

Josh Cassaro had the lowest score on the Blue Thunder team with a 37, followed by Cam Batson and Brenton Payne with 38s, and Jacob Dykstra with a 41.

Teammates Garrett Nelson and Adam Veruchi also brought home impressive scores with Nelson scoring a 43 and Veruchi scoring a 44.

Despite losing, Harlem gave it their all with their four top players bringing in low scores for the match.

Martin Schwebke had the lowest score of all with a 35, followed by Dylan Connelly and Josiah Wolf with 42s, and Trey Fry with a 44.

Not far behind them were teammates Jacob Seibold with a 47 and Eric Steiner with a 46.

The BNHS junior varsity also brought home a win for the Blue Thunder team with North winning against Harlem 181-204.
