POPLAR GROVE – In a Monday, Sept. 21 evening game set at Timber Pointe Golf Club in Poplar Grove, the Belvidere North High School boys’ golf team took home another win, this time against Jefferson High School. Belvidere North won the game 163-184.

The win came with consistent performances from the top players on the Blue Thunder team.

Yet again, Josh Cassaro showed his prowess on the course scoring a low 37. He scored the lowest out of both teams.

Cam Batson, coming in a close second place to Cassaro, remained constant with his total of 39.

Jacob Dykstra and Adam Veruchi scored in third and fourth place for the BNHS team with scores of 44 and 45 to round out their final score of 163 against Jefferson.

Not far off the leaders were Brenton Payne and Garrett Nelson with scores of 50 and 46.

Although Jefferson brought their A-game to the course, the four leaders on the J-Hawks couldn’t catch up to the masters of the Timber Pointe course.

Mitkusevitch and Loveridge tied with the top scores on the J-Hawks team with totals of 45. Thurston and Doctor tied for the last two scores to make up their total of 184 with a score of 47 for each of them.

Scores are courtesy of Belvidere North Varsity Golf Coach, Alan McCormick.
