However, Buffalo Grove only received .75 points in deductions, placing them at an overall total score of 84.72.

Belvidere North, on the other hand, received two points in deductions and five points in legalities, making them fall into the second place slot at 79.64 points for a total score.

Belvidere North still trumped their cross-town rivals, the Belvidere Bucs, who placed 6th in the co-ed preliminary round standings. The Bucs finished with a raw score of 78.47. After three points were deducted, they finished with an overall score of 75.47 points.

But, Belvidere North wasn’t done yet. They brought another win back with the championship preliminary round standings. They finished in first place with a raw and total score of 88.87 points. They had a perfect performance, with no deductions or legalities penalizing their score.

Belvidere North’s co-ed team defeated Antioch High School’s medium varsity team, Providence Catholic High School’s large varsity team, and Byron High School’s small varsity team in this last preliminary round of competition.

Once again, Belvidere North Competitive Cheer Head Coaches Tammy Rentschler and Lacee Slaven proved their guidance over the cheer squads are sure to make Belvidere North stiff competition for the other cheer teams.

After this local competition, the Belvidere North High School cheerleaders went on to win their 6th consecutive state title.
