BELVIDERE –Belvidere Police Chief Jan Noble announced enforcement results for the Sustained Traffic Enforcement Program Labor Day Campaign.

The Belvidere Police department received funding from the Illinois Department of Transportation- Division of Traffic Safety, to hire off-duty officers from Aug. 24 through Sept. 7. Officers conducted 94 traffic stops that resulted in 71 tickets or arrests.

These tickets and arrests included: 14 uninsured, two equipment, two suspended/revoked/unlicensed, one other D.L., 19 moving, four DUI, five registrations, three BAC over .08, 16 speeding, two warrants, and five drugs.

Belvidere officers will continue with targeted traffic enforcement in the coming months. Please buckle up and drive carefully.
