Belvidere tennis team falls to Harlem
BELVIDERE – The Harlem Huskies dominated the tennis courts at Belvidere High School over the Bucs’ boys’ tennis team on Tuesday, April 26.
The Huskies won the varsity game 5-0. The Bucs junior varsity freshmen/sophomore team also lost due to the fact that they did not have a full team of athletes to compete, forcing them to forfeit.
Despite the shut-out loss, the Bucs gave it their all to try to take the win.
In the singles games, Daren Seerup of Harlem won the first game over BHS’s Ben Deardorff.
In the second singles game, Harlem’s Marco Kuljanin won over Ivan Ramos of the Bucs.
In the first doubles game, Nick McCormick and Kyle Christenson of the Harlem Huskies defeated Jose Ramirez and Oscar Pereanegrom of the Belvidere Bucs.
In the second doubles game, Brennan Phelps and Joe Procopio of the Huskies defeated David Saldana and Ivan Cacique of the Bucs.
In the third and final doubles match, Harlem’s Marty Scwebke and Josiah Wolf won over Belvidere’s Tino Gallegos and Jose Fernandez.
