drug charges mugshot - Tyawanda AndersonBOONE COUNTY – On Tuesday, Nov. 17, a two month investigation by the Belvidere/Boone County Metro Narcotics Unit and the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Task Force resulted in the arrest of a Rockford Resident on felony drug charges.

Tyawanda R. Anderson, 44, of Rockford, was charged with two counts of Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance (cocaine) within 1,000 feet of a Senior Citizen Complex (Class X Felony). Anderson remains in the custody of the Boone County Jail with no bond.

On Tuesday Nov. 17, following a two month investigation, the Belvidere/Boone County Metro Narcotics Unit, assisted by Boone County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Belvidere Police K-9 Unit, conducted a traffic stop on Anderson and arrested her on two counts of Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Cocaine) within 1,000 feet of a Senior Citizen Complex. Police seized crack cocaine, U.S. currency, and a vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.   Each Class X Felony is punishable by six to 30 years in the Department of Corrections.
