Belvidere/Boone county Metro Narcotics Unit makes arrest
On Wednesday, Feb. 8, a three month investigation, by the Belvidere/Boone County Metro Narcotics Unit and the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Task Force, resulted in the arrest of a Belvidere resident on felony drug charges.
Jorge Florentino-Hernandez, 30, of Belvidere, was charged with one count of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance –one to 15 grams of cocaine (class one felony) and one count of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance – 15 to 100 grams of cocaine (class x felony).
Florentino-Hernandez remains in the custody of the Boone County Jail with a bond of $100,000.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
A class x felony is punishable by six to 30 years in the Department of Corrections. A class one felony is punishable by four to 15 years in the Department of Corrections.
