Tuesday, Nov. 15

Around 3:23 p.m., BPD Officers conducted tobacco compliance checks of local retailers in partnership with the Boone County Health Department, who received a grant for such compliance checks from the Illinois Liquor Control Commission. Twenty-five retail establishments were checked and all 25 were in compliance.

Thursday, Nov. 17

At 11:34 a.m., BPD Officer was dispatched to the 100 Block of S. Appleton Road in reference to a criminal damage to property. The complainant reported on an unknown date and time, an unknown person cracked the glass on one of the slot machines located along the west wall.

At 2:18 p.m., BPD Officer was dispatched to the 600 Block of Elmwood for recovered property. The complainant located a lime green Next Chaos bicycle in the shrubs along his east property line.

At 4 p.m., BPD Officers were dispatched to the 300 Block of Spruce Dr. for damage to a vehicle. The complainant stated that on Thursday, Nov. 17 between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. someone threw eggs onto his car and left damage.

Friday, Nov. 18

At 8:06 a.m., BPD Officer made contact with a complainant who stated between Thursday, Nov. 17 at 8:30 p.m. and Friday, Nov. 18 at 7:30 a.m., persons unknown placed graffiti on the garage door of their home located in the 800 Block of Berylan Street.

At 11:32 a.m., BPD Officer observed graffiti at the northwest corner of Lincoln Ave. and Ogden Street at the stop sign.

At 3:21 p.m., BPD Officer was dispatched to the public safety building for a telephone scam. The complainant reported that he had been a victim of a money scam. The complainant advised that he was contacted by “Mathew Cox” from Cheyenne, Wyo. who said he would pay the complainant to wrap his car with an advertiser’s logo. The complainant sent a check and was told to deposit into an account for installer. The complainant’s bank informed him that the check had bounced.

Saturday, Nov. 19

At 10:20 p.m., BPD Officer was dispatched to the 800 Block of Berylan in reference a theft. The complainant wanted to report her Samsung Galaxy S-7 Edge cell phone was stolen. The complainant stated that she believes her phone fell out of pocket. Theft is over $300.

Sunday, Nov. 20

At 8:39 a.m., BPD Officer was dispatched to the 800 Block of W. Jackson St. for criminal damage to property. The complainant stated between Saturday, Nov. 19 at 11:30 p.m. and 7 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 20, green tire sealant had been poured on the outside of his apartment door and down the apartment building’s hallway.

Monday, Nov. 21

At 8:14 a.m., BPD Officer responded to Perry Elementary School in reference to trespass to property. An employee reported that someone climbed onto the roof of the school and opened an unlocked bathroom window.

At 2:17 p.m., BPD Officer was dispatched to the PSB in reference to a scam report. The complainant reported that on Tuesday, Oct. 18 in the morning hours she paid money to have her computer repaired by who she thought was Apple tech support. The computer was repaired and crashed again. When the complainant called again she stated she was being refunded money, however a mistake was made and she was refunded more than she paid that day. The complainant was instructed to mail a Wal-Mart Green Dot for the difference. The complainant was referred to IC3.Gov.

Tuesday, Nov. 22

At 3:12 p.m., BPD Officer made contact with a complainant who stated person(s) unknown placed graffiti on the east side of a building located in the 800 Block of Lindenwood.

Wednesday, Nov. 23

At 1:26 p.m., BPD Officer was dispatched to the 1900 Block of N. State St, Mobile, for a retail theft. An employee stated he received a note from the night shift employees about a possible theft. The employee looked at the video from Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 7:56 p.m., and again at 9:18 p.m., showing theft of merchandise. The video shows an unknown male approximately 5’10” and 175 pounds wearing a Bulls jacket, and a Sox winter hat, steal items at both 7:56 p.m. and again at 9:18 p.m.

At 8:28 p.m., BPD Officer was dispatched to the 800 Block of St. Croix in reference to a theft. The complainant wanted to report her Amazon package as stolen. The complainant stated that the package was on the front porch at 2 p.m. and was stolen by 2:15 p.m. A witness observed two males, in black sweatshirts with their hoods up, come up to the porch and take the package. Theft is under $300.

Friday, Nov. 25

At 10:43 a.m., BPD Officer responded to a fire call in the 600 Block of E. Pleasant Ave. The homeowner was determined to be at another location in Rockford at the time of the fire and no one else was inside. The fire was extinguished and investigated by Belvidere Fire Department. Cause of fire was suspected to be electrical.

Saturday, Nov. 26

At 9:26 a.m., BPD Officer went to the 1200 Block of S. Main Street in reference to criminal damage to a vehicle. The complainant stated sometime between Friday, Nov. 25 at 9 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 26 at 9 a.m. someone broke his passenger side mirror, dented his driver’s side front fender, and flatted his driver’s side rear tire to his vehicle.

At 11:04 a.m., BPD Officer was dispatched to the 300 Block of Roosevelt for a theft. The complainant stated between 1:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. someone stole her Christmas projection light from the front yard. Theft is under $300.

Sunday, Nov. 27

At 2:47 p.m., BPD Officer was dispatched to a residential burglary. The complainant reported an unknown person had made entry into her residence and took items sometime between Wednesday, Nov. 24 at approximately 7:30 a.m. and Sunday, Nov. 27 at 2:47 p.m.

Monday, Nov. 28

At 3:53 p.m., BPD Officer responded to the PSB for an Identity theft report. The complainant stated on Sunday, Nov. 27 at 7 p.m. she received an email from Bank of America asking for her to verify her SSN and bank account information. The complainant sent all her information via email to the sender. On Monday, Nov. 28 at noon, Bank of America called her stating she had suspicious activity on her account.

Wednesday, Nov. 30

At 10:16 a.m., BPD Officer took a theft report. The complainant stated that on Monday, Nov. 28 between 8 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. she had dropped her credit card while at Murphy Gas Station, located at 2005 Gateway Center Dr. in Belvidere, but did not realize it until various charges showed on her online banking. Theft is over $300.

Thursday, Dec. 1

At approximately 5:22 p.m., BPD Officer was dispatched to the PSB in reference to an identity theft. The complainant stated she received a call from Advanced Payday Loans, in reference to a loan that was opened in her name in September 2014 that has a balance. The complainant advised that she did not open this account. The complainant was given an identity theft packet.

At 6:12 p.m., BPD Officer was dispatched to the 500 Block of Greenview Road in Belvidere in reference to a residential burglary. The complainants stated they had arrived home to discover items missing from the home.

At 6:56 p.m., BPD Officer was dispatched to the 800 Block of W. Jackson St. in Belvidere in reference to criminal damage to property. The complainant stated unknown subject(s) kicked in his door to his residence. The complainant stated nothing was missing from the residence and was unable to advise if subject(s) had even entered his residence.

Friday, Dec. 2

At 5:43 p.m., BPD Officer was dispatched to 1700 Block of Pearl St. in Belvidere in reference to a stolen vehicle complaint. The complainant reported that she parked her vehicle in front of Mobil. The complainant said she entered Mobil and returned five minutes later to find her vehicle missing. On-Star Services located the vehicle in the parking lot in the 600 block of S. State St. in Belvidere unoccupied.

At 6:56 p.m., BPD Officer was dispatched to the 1000 Block of Autumn Dr. in Belvidere in reference to criminal damage to property. The complainant wanted to report his Christmas lights damaged. The complainant stated that this is the second time in less than two weeks that an unknown subject has cut the electrical wire for the Christmas lights on the outside of his residence.

Saturday, Dec. 3

At 5:24 p.m., BPD Officer was dispatched to the 500 Block of W. Harrison Ave. in Belvidere for damage to property. The complainant stated that unknown person(s) had cut the cord on her Christmas lights in the front yard. Damage occurred between midnight and 5:24 p.m.

At 9:53 p.m., BPD Officer was dispatched to the 300 Block of Biester Dr. in Belvidere for theft. The complainant stated that between 8:30 p.m. and 10 p.m., a red mini bike with a black seat and other items had been taken from his open garage.

At 10:50 p.m., BPD Officer was dispatched to the 300 Block of Andrews Dr. in Belvidere for an attempted break in. The complainant stated she went inside her house and left her garage door open. The complainant returned two minutes later and saw two males who were about 5’10” tall with skinny builds, wearing hooded sweatshirts, inside the garage and inside her mother’s car. The men fled the scene.

Monday, Nov. 14

At 9:02 a.m., BCS Deputy was dispatched to the 6500 Block of Joan Dr. in Belvidere in reference to a theft. The complainant stated that sometime over the last week or two, someone entered the fenced in lot of JV Auto and took items.

Tuesday, Nov. 15

BCS Deputy was dispatched to the 200 Block of Rainbow Dr. in Capron to meet complainant/victim who stated sometime on Tuesday, Nov. 15, someone broke out the rear window of his vehicle.

Thursday, Nov. 17

At approximately 8:50 p.m., BCS Deputy was dispatched to the 1100 Block of Candlewick Dr. in Poplar Grove in reference to a possible stolen identity. The complainant stated that in May someone attempted to purchase cell phones in his name through Verizon. The complainant said that he started receiving calls and text messages on Thursday, Nov. 17 in regards to his Verizon account, and that the text messages included threats.

Monday, Nov. 21

At approximately 8:08 a.m., BCS Deputies were dispatched to the 3800 Block of Stone Quarry Road in Belvidere in reference to criminal damage to property. The complainant showed deputies where it appeared that a car had traveled through the ditch running over his mother’s mailbox and horse pasture fence.

At approximately 12:17 p.m., BCS Deputies were dispatched to the 100 Block of East in Poplar Grove in reference to a fire. Upon arrival, deputies noticed flames and smoke coming from the windows. North Boone Fire District III arrived on scene. The fire was eventually extinguished.

Tuesday, Nov. 22

At approximately 1:52 p.m., BCS Deputies were dispatched to the PSB in reference to a theft. The complainant stated he had hired a subject from a company to put in a new air conditioning unit. The complainant stated he hired the subject on Tuesday, Aug. 9 and wrote him a check as a down payment. The complainant stated that the subject removed the old air conditioning unit, but hasn’t completed the job. Theft is over $300.

BCS Deputy responded to the 300 Block of Greenbriar Drive in Poplar Grove to meet with a complainant in reference to unknown subject(s) taking her cell phone that was delivered on Friday, Nov. 4, by UPS to her residence. Theft is over $300.

Thursday, Nov. 24

At 7:07 a.m., BCS Deputy was dispatched to the 4500 Block of Harris Dr. in Poplar Grove in reference to damage to a vehicle. The complainant advised that sometime between 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23 and after midnight on Thursday, Nov. 24, someone threw a brick through the back window of his vehicle.

Friday, Nov. 25

At 10:29 p.m., BCS Deputy was dispatched to the Wheeler Mobil in reference to a gasoline drive off. An employee stated that a female, with braids driving a dark colored sedan with multiple children pumped gas and left without paying. Theft is under $300.

Saturday, Nov. 26

At approximately 2:03 p.m., BCS Deputies were dispatched to the 100 Block of Maintenance Drive in reference to damage to property. The complainant was from Capron Rescue and he showed the back door of the rescue building where it appeared someone tried to pry the door open.

At approximately 2:29 p.m., BCS Deputies were dispatched to the 100 Block of Pembroke Road in reference to damage to a vehicle. Upon arrival, BCS Deputies observed a landscape brick that had been thrown through the driver side window of the complainant’s vehicle. The complainant informed that items were stolen from the vehicle.

Sunday, Nov. 27

At approximately 4:56 p.m., BCS Deputies were dispatched to Farm and Fleet in reference to a retail theft. The complainant informed deputies about a subject entering the store and removing items without paying for them. The complainant stated that at 3:33 p.m., an unknown male entered the store and stole items. The subject then walked past the last plain of sale, and then ran into the parking lot getting into what appeared to be a Dodge or Chrysler van and fled in an unknown direction.

Monday, Nov. 28

BCS Deputy was dispatched to the 200 Block of Oak St. in Poplar Grove in reference to a burglary just discovered. The complainant advised she left her residence that morning and returned in the afternoon and discovered her interior garage door had been forced open.

Tuesday, Nov. 29

At 10:35 a.m., BCS Deputy was contacted by an employee at Snyder Pharmacy in Poplar Grove in reference to a retail theft that had occurred on Sunday, Nov. 13 at 6:23 p.m. The complainant stated that two male subjects entered the store around 6:23 p.m. one wearing a black coat and the other wearing a gray sweatshirt. The subject in the black coat went to the liquor section and placed two bottles of liquor in his jacket. The subject in the black coat then exited the store without stopping to pay for the items he had taken.

At approximately 5:49 p.m., BCS Deputies were dispatched to the 9600 Block of Squire Lane in Belvidere in reference to a burglary just discovered. The complainant stated her children left the garage door open in the morning, and at 2:50 p.m., she returned home and noticed multiple items missing from the garage and from inside the house.

Thursday, Dec. 1

At 4:04 p.m., BCS Deputy was dispatched to the 100 Block of S. State Street in Poplar Grove for criminal damage to vehicle. The complainant stated that sometime in the last week, some unknown person broke out the front passenger side window of her vehicle. They also advised me that some unknown person walked into her garage door sometime on the night of Wednesday, Nov. 30 and entered her vehicle and took several items.

Friday, Dec. 2

At 11:42 a.m., BCS Deputy was dispatched to the 100 Block of S. State St. Poplar Grove for a burglary and damage to a building. The complainant stated that between the dates of Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 9 a.m. and Friday, Dec. 2 at 11:42 a.m. unknown subject(s) forcefully entered the garage/storage area in the 100 Block of S. State St. in Poplar Grove by kicking in a rear door to the building. Unknown subject(s) also broke out a window in the rear of the building.

At approximately 11:11 p.m., BCS Deputies were dispatched to the 2500 Block of Candlewick Dr. in reference to a theft just reported. The complainant stated her shower laser light was stolen from her front yard between 4 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Theft is under $300.
