BHS girls’ soccer team defeats Jefferson
BELVIDERE – After the junior varsity BHS girls’ soccer team came out victorious over Jefferson High School in a 4-1 victory, the BHS varsity girls’ added another victory for the Bucs.
In another shutout game, the Belvidere High School girls’ soccer team won over the J-Hawks on the Thursday, April 7 game. The Lady Bucs won 7-0.
The 7-0 win came with five goals in the first period of game play.
Vanessa Rivera, #7, made the first two goals of the game followed by Giselle Lopez, #9, scoring a goal of her own.
Jessie Rivera, #10, took fourth goal of the game with an assist from Elizabeth Resendiz, #15.
Elizabeth Resendiz scored a goal of her own, only three minutes later, off of an assist from teammate Mackenzy Jankiewics, #11.
Ten minutes into the second period, Coral Nava, #8, scored off of an assist from Erys Rivera, #2.
Jessie Rivera scored again to complete the 7-0 shutout over the J-Hawks.
The shutout was in part due to great goalkeeping by goalie Maria Aguilar, #1, who managed to save five shots.
Now, the BHS girls’ will train and hope to continue their winning streak.
