BELVIDERE – On Friday, Dec. 11, the Belvidere Lady Bucs basketball team faced Freeport High School in a showdown at Belvidere High School. The Belvidere girls defeated Freeport, leading by 12 points in the final score of 34-26.

All of the girls on both teams gave it their all to try to take home the victory, but luckily for Belvidere the Lady Bucs came out on top.

The win came with impressive performances from Belvidere’s own Bryanna Williams who scored 15 out of the 34 points. Williams also snagged nine rebounds and made seven of her 11 free throws.

Another Belvidere player who excelled on the court was Liv Busch who scored a whopping 13 points, rebounded 12 times, had two steals, and three blocks.

Rounding out the top players on the Lady Bucs team was Becky Bartell. Bartell scored five points and had seven steals.

These three ladies alone scored 33 out of the total 34 points in the game.

Although Freeport lost, they still had notable performances from their top players.

Ally Hasken carried her team by scoring nine points, followed by Q. Avery who scored six points for the Freeport Pretzels.
