Boone Co. Sheriff requests help with home invader identit
The Boone County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information on the identity of the person or person(s) who committed a home invasion at a residence in Boone County.
On Wednesday, Jan. 24, at approximately 10:30 a.m., Boone County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 2100 block of North State Street, Belvidere, for a reported home invasion. The victim, a 72 year old male, reported that a black male, 20 to 30 years old, 5’9” to 5’11”, thin build, braided hair, wearing an all red sweat suit entered his residence and demanded money. After a short struggle, the offender obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene driving a 2009-2011 dark blue or black Ford Fusion. The victim received minor injuries.
Through the initial investigation, it is believed that the victim was followed home after shopping at the Walmart located at 7219 Walton Street, Rockford. Attached photos show the offender following the victim at that location.
