The Boone County Board will have plenty of things to talk about when they meet on Wednesday, Jan. 18 at 6:30 p.m. The regular monthly get-together gives board members the chance to hear about what is going on within county lines. Each month there is a lot going on as influenced by activity at the committee level.
Each board member’s responsibility includes participation in the monthly meeting as well as in one of the many information-collection sessions experienced at the committee level. Each board member knows they will have to take action on some of the things they are hearing about, possibly for the first time. They are expected to cast a vote.
Action continues at the committee level on Monday, Jan. 9 as the Public Safety and ADHOC members gather. The Finance Committee and City Planning Committees are schedule to meet on Tuesday, Jan. 10.
On Wednesday, Jan. 11, the City and County Planning Committee meets. Each committee also is required to present and manage a budget, if funds are allocated for use.
With many governmental agencies across Boone County focused on other tasks at hand, including budgets, five and 10-year strategies, and infrastructure improvement plans, the Boone County Board prepares for its own release of information during the next Boone County Board meeting. The public is encouraged to attend to oversee how business is being handled.
