The B1 Food Pantry Bowling Fundraiser was held at Dodge Lanes, 1940 N. State St. on Saturday, March 30. The B1 food pantry is held at the Belvidere First Assembly Of God Church, 1105 7th Ave., every Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m.

“All the proceeds go to benefit the B1 food pantry,” said Kristen Smith, event organizer. “We serve about 1200 people each month. We also hold a Senior Pantry from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Sheffield for the residents.

“The Baby Bank joins us at the Food Pantry at B1 during the first two weeks of the month to offer formula, diapers, wipes, and other baby needs. The B1 Food Pantry is not income based. If you have fallen on hard times for a bit and need help, we are there. Our only requirement is that you be a Boone County resident. We always need volunteers to help unload the truck.

“The B1 Food Pantry has been in operation since 2017. It was mentored by Life Church who supported the pantry for a year. Now we are on our own. We want the community to have the opportunity to sow into the food pantry to sow back into the community. We work with the Northern Illinois Food Bank and Empower Boone.

“We have the main B1 Food Pantry and the Senior Pantry. We also have the occasional visit from a mobile pantry, which is a semi-truck full of milk, meat, fruits, vegetables, and snacks. The next visit from the mobile pantry will be on April 16 from 4 to 6 p.m. The truck will be parked at the…
