Boylan in high spirits after NIC-10 dance-off

BELVIDERE – The ladies and gentlemen of the NIC-10 dance squads squared off at Belvidere High School on Thursday, Jan. 15, to lay claim to the division title. Boylan rose to the occasion and took first place by edging out two year reigning champs, Harlem. This was Boylan’s first win since 2012.
Boylan topped Harlem by a thin margin with scores of 85.57 and 83, respectively. Rounding out the top five are Hononegah (82.10) in third, followed by Auburn (77.27) in fourth and Freeport (76.30) in fifth. Evening hosts, Belvidere High, finished in eighth with 73.67 points.
Along with the varsity groups battling for the trophy, the junior varsity teams of Hononegah, Belvidere North, Harlem, and Boylan performed exhibition routines.
Complete results include: Boylan in first with 85.57 points, Harlem in second with 83 points, Hononegah in third with 82.10 points, Auburn in fourth with 77.27 points, Freeport in fifth with 76.30 points, Belvidere North in sixth with 74.03 points, East in seventh with 73.80 points, Belvidere in eighth with 72.47 points, Guilford in ninth with 72.47 points, and Jefferson in tenth with 69.90 points.
