The Belvidere Fire Department held a fire truck pull and water fights on Saturday, June 25 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for Heritage Days.
Buchanan Street Pub provided special deals and refreshments during the events.
“The Fire Department approached me about working together for Heritage Days,” Buchanan Street Pub owner Sandy Grant said.
This is Buchanan Street Pub’s first Heritage Days with the new beer garden.
“The beer garden is amazing,” Grant said. “There’s nothing like it in the area. Visitors can watch the fire fighters come out and do the truck pull and the barrel fight and then come in a cool off with a drink.”
Wild Bill and Kylee performed an acoustic set in the beer garden from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m.
“I love meeting new customers because of Heritage Days,” Grant said. “And I always love seeing the regulars.”
Buchanan Street Pub worked with the Fire Department to raise money for charity.
“We are raising funds for children to go to burn camp,” Grant said. “It’s for children who have been burned. Burn victims then receive money to go to camp. We are taking up collections from customers and Buchanan Street Pub is going to match the amount of dollars we raise today.”
Buchanan Street Pub is open Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. and Wednesday through Saturday from 7 a.m. until 2 a.m.
“It’s such a relaxing atmosphere during the summer,” Grant said. “The Buchanan Street Pub is where half of your friends are already here and the other half are on their way. It’s my slogan.”
