Byron Future Farmers of America (FFA) had an exceptional showing last weekend at the Supervised Agriculture Experience competition in Stillman Valley.

Congratulations to the Byron Future Farmers of America (FFA) for an exceptional showing last weekend at the Supervised Agriculture Experience competition in Stillman Valley.

Students are judged by a panel of agriculture educators and a host of industry specialists. Twelve area schools competed in this sectional competition and the following Byron HS FFA members received accolades:

– Kendall Boatman: 1st Place in Beef Placement

– Kade Boatman: 1st Place in Agri-Science Animal Systems

– Carson Conderman: 1st Place in Wildlife Production

– Bruce Gehrke: 1st Place in Diversified Livestock

– Carter Conderman: 1st Place in Ag Mechanics Repair and Maintenance

– Gunnar Shank: 1st Place in Sheep Production

– Kaydon VanBriesen: 2nd Place in Poultry Production

– Olivia Cunningham: 2nd Place in Grain Placement

– Brittany Squires: 2nd Place in Equine Entrepreneur

All first place finishers advance to the to the District-level FFA state competition.

Star Farmer Award

Byron FFA member Gunnar Shank was awarded the Section #2 Star Farmer Award! The Star Farmer Award is the highest award an FFA Member can receive at the Sectional Competition and is based on conducting an outstanding supervised agricultural experience.
