Saturday, Jan. 14 will be filled with tons of opportunities for the community to give back. The Capron Lions Club and their sponsored youth group, the Capron Leos Club, will provide these opportunities to the public in the forms of a pancake breakfast fundraiser and a silent auction.

Starting at 7 a.m., the Capron Lion’s Club will dish out a full style pancake breakfast, which will run until 1 p.m.

Coinciding with the Lions Club pancake breakfast fundraiser will be the Leos Club silent auction. Several community members have donated wonderful items that are up for bid at the silent auction. Such items include a Chicago Cubs, handcrafted, wood bench, a beautiful, custom-built wishing well that would work wonderfully in any yard or garden, and so much more.

All of the money raised from the breakfast and the silent auction will go to the Center for Sight and Hearing to help underprivileged individuals and families receive the proper eye and ear care they need.

Last year, the Capron Lions Club and Capron Leos Club were able to raise $1,000 to donate to the Center for Sight and Hearing. This year, with the community’s help, the clubs want to do even better.

“Our hope this year is to give more than $1,000 this year,” Capron Lions Club member Bob Kemp said.

A good way to start raising money for their hefty goal for the Center for Sight and Hearing will come this Saturday, Jan. 14 as they put on the pancake breakfast fundraiser and silent auction fundraiser. Both of these wonderful, charitable activities will take place at the Capron Lions Club Building in Capron Lions Park, located at 249 E. North St. in Capron, Ill.

Come out for a good breakfast and some bidding fun for a good cause.
