To help kids learn about the importance of good oral health and how to fight tooth decay, two costumed characters – Tooth Wizard and PlaqueMan – put on a fun, interactive performance with kindergarten through fourth grade students
“We train them the same way as we train our firefighters so they can have realistic experience. The Explorers have their own rank structure just as the fire department does.
“This is our third Safety Bowl,” said Dietician Nathan Hamman. “The first one we had at the hospital and families had to come to us. Last year we reached out to the YMCA, where kids already were. We hope to make the Safety Bowl bigger each year.
The Main Street Players of Boone County are currently performing the classic show of Guys and Dolls, a musical that mixes idealized gangsters and showgirls with inner-city missionaries and ‘the oldest-established, permanent floating crap game in New York’ vs. police Lieutenant Brannigan who seeks to shut it down.
