Spaghetti dinner raises funds for Explorer youth

	The North Boone Explorers, and a few instructors and supporters, take a short break from preparing spaghetti for the community.

“We train them the same way as we train our firefighters so they can have realistic experience. The Explorers have their own rank structure just as the fire department does.

 
 

The Safety Bowl returns to the YMCA

“This is our third Safety Bowl,” said Dietician Nathan Hamman. “The first one we had at the hospital and families had to come to us. Last year we reached out to the YMCA, where kids already were. We hope to make the Safety Bowl bigger each year.

 
 

St. James holds a fashion show for all ages and sizes

The First Annual St. James School Fashion Show and Luncheon began at 1 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, Feb. 17. The room was packed, the show sold out.

 
 

Ice Fishing Clinic draws the adventurous into Spencer Park

Freezing rain does not stop cold-water rescue training

	The BFD rescue team keeps a close eye on the guys on the ice as they haul them back to safety.

“People occasionally fall through the ice and panic or become disoriented so we also train to rescue someone who is struggling and/or fighting us.
