Josh Sage

The Boone County Conservation District (BCCD) was the first conservation districts to become established in the state of Illinois on Nov. 4, 1964. Approaching its 60th anniversary, Executive Director Josh Sage will be presenting the colorful history of the organization, as well as defining its established mission and purpose. He has extensive knowledge of the organization and appreciates the history and the people that have come before him.

From the beginning, the BCCD has understood the importance of educating the public on the need to protect and enjoy our wild places. These values have not changed; they are stronger now more than ever. Because Sage comes from a land management background, he will go into great detail regarding the current best management practices of natural areas management. This in-person program will be held at the Cherry Valley Public Library, 755 E. State St., Thursday, Oct. 19. Please join us at 6 p.m. for socializing and a chance to check out our Wild Ones chapter library, followed by the speaker’s presentation at 6:30 p.m. To attend this meeting via Zoom, you must register first.
