Chen’s Restaurant honored in Loves Park

At the Feb. 20 Loves Park City Council meeting, Mayor Darryl Lindberg presented a plaque to Loves Park businessman Norman Chen (Chen’s Restaurant), which is closing after 40 years business on N. Second St. Lindberg gave the plaque in recognition of Chen’s business and contributions to the City of Loves Park.
Alderman Clint Little gave the weekly police activity report for the week of Feb. 12-18 – 520 calls for service were received, 191 arrests (including warnings and warrants), and seven accidents responded to.
On the weekly fire de-partment report dated Feb. 19, one false fire alarm, two mutual aid calls, one carbon monoxide or gas leak call, one controlled burning call, and one public service call were reported.
There were no water de-partment bills to be paid for the week. Aldermen ap-proved payment of $84,151.10 in general fund and all other bills, as pre-sented Feb. 13
A special event permit was approved for the 2017 Rockford Marathon event set for May 21 from 6 a.m. to noon – subject to police oversight.
The mayor was authorized to transfer and promote city employee
