Corrugated metal buildings prompt debate in Machesney Park
By Bob Balgemann
REPORTER
The question of allowing metal buildings in the village seemed heading for approval at the Jan. 17 village board meeting.
But questions from Trustee James Kidd and the absence of three trustees prompted action on the issue to be postponed until the Feb. 6 board meeting. Mayor Jerry D. Bolin called for the delay, saying he would like more trustees to be available for discussion.
Approval of the proposed industrial design standards was on the consent agenda Tuesday night for second and final reading. Unless a trustee calls for one or more agenda items to be removed for discussion, the entire package is voted on with one motion. Trustee Kidd asked for the industri-al design standards item to be with-drawn from the agenda.
