Día de los Niños is being celebrated in Belvidere once again
LULAC Belvidere Council #5303, a four-year-old non-profit organization in Boone County, is celebrating another year of Día de los Niños, April 29. Children all ages are invited to participate in a fun day with LULAC (League of United Latin American Citizens) Belvidere at the Apollo Theater, 104 N State Street.
The entire world commemorates Universal Children’s Day on a traditionally celebrated day. December 14, 1954, the United Nations General Assembly recommended all countries to institute a Children’s Day. The Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child in 1959, and the Convention on Rights of the Child in 1989. Día de los Niños is a huge deal in Mexico every April. LULAC Belvidere will be providing a huge party for children to have fun and feel special because it is their day.
LULAC Belvidere will have set-up music, refreshment, crafts, educational information, comforting canines, raffle toy give-away, and more. This event will be Sunday, April 29 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
We hope to see a lot of children from our area that will simply enjoy the company of other children on their special day. Parents are invited to attend this event with their children.
