Enbridge Energy Company presents grant to Belvidere/Boone County Food Pantry
Enbridge Energy Company, Inc. presented the Belvidere/Boone County Food Pantry with a $2,500 check to help support the many programs the food pantry offers to clients in the Boone County area that are in need of assistance.
In 2015, the official poverty rate of people living in the United States was 13.5 percent. Under the Supplemental Poverty Measure, the overall poverty rate is 14.3 percent.
As of the 2010 census, the population in Boone County was 54,165. The unemployment rate as of April 2015 was 5.3 percent.
According to Feeding America’s most recent statistics, 8.5 percent of Boone County residents are classified as “food insecure.”
Enbridge is an energy delivery company based in Calgary, Canada. It focuses on the transportation, distribution, and generation of energy, primarily in North America.
As a transporter of energy, Enbridge operates in Canada and the United States. They are the longest crude oil and liquid hydrocarbons transportation system in the world.
As a distributor of energy, it owns and operates Canada’s largest natural gas distribution network, providing distribution services in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, and New York.
