An ordinance, first reading, was approved for a liquor license “reclassification upgrade” for Toast Café and Slots in the 1900 block of E. Riverside Blvd. from a Class D license (restaurant beer and wine) to a Class R1 license (restaurant full alcohol).
Alderman Greg Jury reported that the ending balance in the May treasurer’s report came to $7,595,250.81.
Jury also gave the weekly police activity report for the week of June 19-25, in which 577 calls for service, 189 arrests, and 13 accidents were noted.
On the weekly fire department report dated June 19, five false fire alarm calls, two public service calls, two rescue calls, and two smoke or odor investigation calls were reported.
A total of $32,428,70 in water fund bills, and $402,816.70 in general fund and all other bills, as presented June 20, were approved for payment.
Due to city offices being closed in honor of the Independence Day weekend on July 4 and 5, and because the next city council meeting was set for July 11, aldermen also okayed payment of water fund and general fund bills as presented June 27 in the amount of $13,784,41 in water department bills, and $217,307.10 in general fund and all other bills. A July 3 block party for Coney Island Dr. was also approved.
A request from the Ski Broncs Water Ski show Team organization for a donation from the city was referred to committee.
