Join the Gold and Silver Fellowship in Friday, Aug. 8, to hear a talk given by Barbara Whitney and Steve Wright about their experience shared with 10 local youth on a workcamp trip they took to Ashby, Minn., to home repairs for elderly, disabled, and low-income residents.

Gold and Silver Fellowship, a ministry of Park Hills Winnebago Church, will meet at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 8 at the Winnebago Public Library, 210 North Elida Street.

Speakers Barbara Whitney and Steve Wright, both of Winnebago, recently accompanied 10 youth on a workcamp experience in Ashby, Minnesota. They joined over 200 teens and adults from many states and churches to do home repairs for elderly, disabled, and low-income residents. Projects included building wheelchair ramps, repairing decks and steps, and interior and exterior painting.

Whitney is a retired teacher, having served for over 31 years in Winnebago schools. She has been Workcamp Coordinator for First Presbyterian Church of Winnebago since their first camp in 1997. She has participated in 25 of the 28 camps, which sent workers.

A main course will be provided for lunch. Those attending will bring side dishes and desserts. Any who are unable to bring food are also welcome.
