Conor Brown wields the enormous scissors to cut the ribbon for the re-Grand Opening of the Boone County Realtors space, joined by Boone County dignitaries.

The Boone County Realtors held a re-Grand Opening of their office at 215 N. State St. on Thursday, Oct. 7. Boone County Realtors were joined by their counterparts in the Rockford Area Realtors, Illinois State Sen. Dave Syverson, Boone County Fair Queen Allyson Sue Aves, Belvidere Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Amy Grafton, Belvidere Area Chamber of Commerce Board President Doug Proudfoot and members of the business community.

“We wanted to provide an opportunity to re-introduce our freshly renovated space for the Boone County Realtors Chapter,” said Conor Brown, CEO of Rockford Area Realtors. “We partnered with the Belvidere Area Chamber of Commerce to host a ribbon cutting today. “This past December, the Boone County Board of Realtors and the Rockford Board of Realtors merged to become one stronger regional organization. There is a huge crossover in terms of real estate culture and business. We very much wanted to prioritize the good things in Boone County that realtors promote such as charitable causes, scholarships, and advocacy.

“If you look at what has been happening in the past year a $30,000 price increase to our average sales prices in the month of June in our region,” he said. “It is an unbelievable time to finance a home. Realtors get to take their clients through the buying side and get them pre-approved hopefully with a local lender and then start searching for those homes,”

“We are well versed in the market in this area, know local lenders, and are ready to help buyers and sellers in the Belvidere Area,” said Christi Steins, Boone County Realtors chairwoman.

“I am really excited that our new Boone County Chapter is now a part of Rockford Area Realtors,” said Realtor Natalie Mulhall. “We have always had such a close working relationship with them, which will now be strengthened even more. This partnership will benefit Boone County even more so than in the past. It has been such a pleasure to serve both organizations over the past few years, as a board/council member of both. Our focus remains the same, to serve Boone County by supporting the organizations that help our citizens and our economic interests and to continue to be the voice of real estate within our community.”

The event was catered by Wild Cherries, which provided plenty of hors d’oeuvres that included fresh fruit and vegetable bites with dips, stuffed mushrooms, chicken bites, fresh shrimp with sauce and more.

About Boone County Realtors

Boone County Realtors Chapter formed out of the merger of the Belvidere Board of Realtors and Rockford Area Realtors in December of 2020. Boone County Realtors will further Rockford Area Realtors’ mission as a proactive force for real estate. It will continue to be a voice for real estate and the Boone County community.

Choosing a realtor makes all the difference. All real estate licensees are not the same. Only real estate licensees who are members of the National Association of Realtors can be properly called realtors.

Realtors subscribe to a strict code of ethics and are expected to maintain a higher level of knowledge of the process of buying and selling real estate.
