Hallie Jean Warriner Bednar, 65
Hallie Jean Warriner Bednar passed away quietly in her home in Minneapolis, Minn. on Sunday, June 12.
Born on Nov. 10, 1950 in Statesville, N.C. to Jean and Bill Warriner, she grew up in Belvidere and graduated from Belvidere High School in 1968 where she learned to love literature.
She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Rockford College in 1972. A few years later her travels took her to Minneapolis where she met her beloved husband Dale Bednar and they settled down to raise their daughter Rachel; both survive her.
She also is survived by her brother, Hervey Warriner of Woodstock, Ill. and will be missed by Rachel’s husband Sean Blanford and Hervey’s wife Linda.
Hallie was adept with her hands and was an accomplished professional seamstress, knitter, and weaver. She was extremely generous with her talents, spending hours creating gifts for family and friends. She loved and rejoiced in people of all races and creeds and worked in the grade school system where she treasured the diversity of all her students.
Hallie was a member of Second Church of Christ, Scientist in Minneapolis serving in many capacities over the years including reader, librarian, and clerk.
The funeral service was private. Her family misses her and thanks you all for your love, prayers, and friendship.
In lieu of flowers, we suggest donating to Second Church of Christ, Scientist, located at 1822 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis MN 55403.
We celebrate the fact that life is eternal as Jesus proved, and that to the spiritual senses, she remains the perfect child of God.
