Harlem Athletics Announces New Head Softball Coach, Kurt Head
Harlem High School Athletic Director Kurt Weigt announces the hiring of Kurt Head as the new Head Varsity Softball Coach at Harlem High School. Coach Kurt Head was approved by the Harlem School Board at their monthly meeting on Sept. 29. “We are extremely excited to have Kurt leading the softball program at Harlem.”
Coach Head is a 1997 graduate of Harlem High School. He has had success at each of the levels that he has coached at. He spent time as the Assistant Softball Coach from 2009 to 2012 at Rock Valley College. He is the former Head Coach at Hononegah in which he was named NIC-10 Coach of the Year on three occasions winning three Conference Championships in four years. He also amassed a 63–9 conference record and was 105–35 overall.
Coach Head also has spent the last three years developing the Stateline Fury into one of the premier travel softball programs in the land. He has coached multiple National Championships at the 13U and 15U levels. Coach Head also played men’s fast pitch softball for 12 years.
