Harlem hosts National Guard deployment ceremony
Harlem High School proudly hosted the Deployment Ceremony for the 725th Transportation Company of the Illinois Army National Guard, based at the National Guard Armory in Machesney Park.
This event was a meaningful opportunity to support the brave men and women who serve our nation and protect our freedoms.
It also gave our students insight into the honor and opportunities that come with serving in the Army National Guard. The 725th, comprising approximately 150 soldiers, will soon deploy to Eastern Europe.
We were honored to welcome several distinguished guests, including Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, State Representative John Cabello, Major General Rodney Boyd, and Brigadier General Lenny Williams.
Special thanks to the high school journalism students and Dr. Bois for documenting this memorable event.
