Girls basketball
Nov. 25 – Marian Central 33, Harlem 27 (Olivia O’Laughlin 8 points, 12 reb.)
Nov. 26 – DeKalb 55, Harle 46 (Haley Fulton 23, OO, 11 points, 8 reb.)
Strombom Tournament
Opened season with 48-43 win over Dundee Crown, before falling to Sycamore, 82-69.
Had a game against Burlington Central before opening NIC-10 play with road games against Boylan on Wednesday and Hononegah on Friday.
Wrestling
The girls team competed in the Rockford East girls invitational and had two girls place. Mariah Brady took fourth at 155 pounds and Izabella Martins was third at 170 pounds.
The boys team has won its first five dual meets, beating Belvidere and Jefferson on Tuesday and coming right back to beat Round Lake, Chicago King and Cary Grove on Wednesday.
Harlem girls bowling dominated the 11-team Rock Island Invitational on Saturday, beating second place Lockport by 340 pins.
Harlem had three of the top 7 bowlers in Ashlin Teves (first), Allison Roberts (second) and Alexis Born (third).
Harlem boys bowling
Nov. 23 – Dominated the 20-team Guilford Survivor Tournament, beating fellow NIC-10 power by exactling 400 pins.
Ben Dahle and Brayland Carpenter finished first and third and Devin Titus was eighth.
The Huskies also won the NIBPA and Harlem Invitationals on Nov. 29 and Nov. 30.
Bowling programs wracking up tournament wins
Harlem’s boys bowling is off to a particularly strong start. The Huskies have won four straight tournaments to start the 2024-2025 season.
On Nov. 23, the Huskies dominated the 20-team Guilford Survivor Tournament, beating fellow NIC-10 power Hononegah by exactly 400 pins. Ben Dahle and Brayland Carpenter finished first and third and Devin Titus was eighth.
Huskies had a great Thanksgiving break, winning the NIBPA pre-season tournament and the Harlem Invitational. Individual results weren’t available.
