Harlem wrestlers take 3rd at Kaneland tournament

Harlem’s varsity wrestling team scored 157 points Jan. 14 and finished third in a nine-team field in the Margaret Flott Invitational at Kaneland High School.
The Huskies came home with one champion, four second-place finishes, two fourths, three fifths and two sixths.
Freshman Jevin Doke (16-3) was the champion, taking the title at 106 pounds with a 4-0 win in the semi-finals and a 3-0 victory in the finals. He was seeded first in his weight class.
Second-place finishes were captured by sophomore Preston Schuelke (13-7) at 132 pounds; freshman Cadence Hecox (13-6) at 160; senior Dalton Hambrock (20-4) at 195; and junior Josh Carter (24-2) at 220.
Hambrock, ranked 11th in his weight class by IllinoisMatmen.com, won 18-3 and with lightning quick pins in 18 seconds and 26 seconds, before losing in the championship match.
