Harlem High School will have three performances of its spring musical, “Legally Blonde,” in the Vivienne Peterson Auditorium.
Shows will be at 7 p.m. March 10 and 11, along with a matinee at 2 p.m. March 12. Admission is $10 for adults; $7 for seniors and students.
The director is Kathryn Broaddus.
She said “Legally Blonde” was chosen because it is very funny, and Harlem has some very funny, and lively, students this year.
“Plus it showcases our very talented girls along with many spots for our young men,” she said.
Beyond that, she said students can relate to the journey undertaken by Elle, the blonde, in life and its related struggles.
Among those struggles are human relationships, boyfriends, mean girls, career desires, friends, get-ting into college, suc-cess/failure and looks.
“It is actually both serious and superficial in great ways,” the longtime teacher and director said. “It will appeal to our audiences as something modern and very entertaining.”
In summation, she said, “Harlem has a very talented cast and crew!”
